Obituary for Frances Anne Szymkowicz

Frances Anne Szymkowicz, 96, of New Britain, formerly of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, August 29, 2015. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Stec) Szymkowicz, she lived in Wethersfield for over 50 years before moving to New Britain with her sister to live with her nephew Charles. Prior to her retirement, Frances worked for 32 years an Assembler for the Royal Typewriter Company and then 17 years for the U.S. Postal Service. Frances leaves her two nephews, Charles M. Slivinsky of New Britain and Mark A. Slivinsky of Marlborough, her sister, (with whom she shared her home) Edwina “Vicki” M. Szymkowicz of New Britain and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Anne, Sophie, Stephanie, Genevieve and Eleanor,
as well as her four brothers, Andrew, Louis, Leon and Edward. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to Frances’ family on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Frances’ life will follow at 11am in SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, Hartford.
