Obituary for Christine L. Dignoti (Lepore)

Christine L. Dignoti (Lepore)
Christine (Lepore) Dignoti, 48, of Wethersfield, loving wife to Anthony S. Dignoti, cherished mother of James “Jimmy” Dignoti and Jason Dignoti, passed away, Friday, August 21, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. Christine was born in Hartford February 23, 1967, daughter of the late Mary Lou (Brady) Lepore. She lived in Enfield to the age of seven, then she and her mother moved, making Wethersfield home. Christine attended Wethersfield Schools, graduating from Wethersfield High, Class of 1985. She continued her education at Southern Connecticut State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Class of 1989. She was always willing to learn new things, which lead her to employment for the State of CT from 1990-1994, at which time she left the work force until 2005, so she and Anthony could start their family where she held the most important position of all, being a “mom” and raising their boys. In 2005, Christine re-entered the work force as a Para-Professional with the Wethersfield Board of Ed until 2008, during that time she studied to become a Licensed Pharmacy Technician and went to work for CVS until 2009, at which time she returned to the State of CT, Department of Labor working as an Adjudication Specialist until 2013. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Wethersfield and the Young Italians Women’s Organization. She had a fondness for playing bingo and occasional weekend getaways with Anthony to one of the casinos. Christine was an avid facebook poster who had hundreds if not thousands of contacts. She made friends wherever she went. Along with her husband Anthony, and her sons Jimmy and Jason, Christine will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her mother and father-in-law, Olivia and Sebastian Dignoti of Wethersfield; a special aunt Linda Gallagher and her husband Jim, of Manchester New Hampshire; a half sister, Lynn O’Connor of Agawam, MA; two cousins, Beth Gallagher and Kate McKenzie; and a large extended family. She also leaves her feline children Benny and Brittany. Friends and relatives may pay their respects Thursday, August 27th from 4-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. A Celebration of Christine’s life will be Friday, August 28th at 11am in First Church of Christ, 250 Main St. Wethersfield with Reverend Deryk Richenburg officiating. Interment will follow the Celebration service in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 26), 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. Anthony, Jimmy and Jason would like to extend a special thank you to the members of the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department, Wethersfield Police Department and Aetna Ambulance for their rapid response, valiant efforts and compassion extended to the family. In addition, a heartfelt thank you to the outpouring of family and friends for all the support that is being extended at this most difficult time. Memorial donations in Christine’s name may be directed to the Wethersfield Volunteer Firefighters’ Association, P.O. Box 290075, Wethersfield, CT 06129.
