Obituary for Michael "Mike" Madrak

Michael “Marian” Madrak 79, of Wethersfield, passed away Friday July 10, 2015 in Hartford
Hospital with his daughter by his side. Michael was born in Poland, son of the late Konstanty and Wladyslawa (Dabrowska) Madrak and lived in the Hartford area most of his life. Mike main passion was to be a machinist. He was self employed as the owner of Solar Machine and later co-owner of Atlas Machine. Even after retiring, Mike would never refuse assistance to others wherever and whenever he was asked when it came to machining. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of many leagues especially at Bradley Bowl. In addition he was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing at various golf courses. He enjoyed travelling by car up and down the Eastern Seaboard to and from Florida. Mike had a big heart who would help those who needed work, by offering them “first time” machining jobs, especially those immigrating from Poland. . Mike will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, a daughter Maggie (Madrak) Janikowski and her husband Mike, of Rocky Hill; the apple of his eye, his adored grandson Daniel Janikowski; Daniel’s Babcia, Vicky “Slawa” Madrak; a sister Stephanie Kwasnicki of Andover as well as a special cousin Zofia Konopka and her husband Stanley; his many nephews and their spouses, Robert and Tracy Kwasnicki, Roger and Sandi Madrak, Marc and Brooke Kwasnicki , Edward and Maggie Madrak ; in addition to his sister-in-law Zofia Madrak. Mike will also be remembered by a special family friend, Janina Mazan, who was always there for him; as well as numerous family and friends, both here and in Poland. He was predeceased by his brother Chester Madrak and cousin Halina Prusaczyk. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 4-7 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, CT. Funeral procession will begin at 9am Thursday, July 16th from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Mike’s life at 10am in SS Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court Hartford.
