I like to think when you finally meet the man upstairs that he judges you not on what you have accomplished in your life but on how many people you have helped along the way. Not only has he aided me in accomplishing my goals in life by helping me with a pursuit of a higher education, he has also helped many of my family memebers with the same goals. For a man who never expected nor needed a thank you i offer one anyways. Thank you Uncle Franny for all that you have done. I remember like it was yesterday the first holiday i got to play in the grown up set back game. For the people that dont know my family playing setback on a holiday is like a rite of passage. Im not even going to lie i was so scared to make a mistake i almost didnt play. After getting a few hands under my belt i was feeling great. Then i made my first mistake. Uncle Franny was the first one to point out the mistake and quickly tell me the right play to make in that situation. I remember saying to myself no wonder why auntie Mary doesn't play. I love you auntie. I was so embarrased and hurt i almost didn't want to play anymore. Then as the hands went on i saw him doing this to all the family memebers. He didn't do it to embarrase us, he did it to make everyone a better card player. As the hands went on i also realized he was the first one to come to your aid and complement you on well played hands. I will never forget all the great memories i have had playing cards with everyone during the holidays and all the laughs we have shared. Uncle fran i hope you stop in from time to time when we have the card games, i know you will it wont be the same with out you. Plus we need someone to keep grandpa in control we all know how he likes to bid crazy as the night goes on! Just kidding grandpa ;) Two last things before i go. First i would like to thank grandma and grandpa for all that they have done for uncle Fran over the last couple of years. Second i would like to end with a blessing i keep dear to my heart. May the road rise up to meet you, may the winds be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may god hold you in the palm of his hand. I hope to see you from time to time unlce Fran, i know i will.
Love Always,
Doug
