Donald Joseph  Cote
Donald J. Cote, husband of Louise (Sack) Cote, formerly of Glastonbury, passed away April 14, 2015 in Murrieta, CA. He was born and raised in Glastonbury, CT, son of the late Albert and Marguerite (Beaudet) Cote. Don was a cement contractor and home builder by trade and built the family home in Glastonbury. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and working around the house. He spent 10 years in the National Guard serving our country. Don was also a member of St. Paul’s Church, Knights of Columbus, and East Glastonbury Hunting and Fishing Club. Don and his wife retired in San Diego, CA in 2011 to be closer to his children. Although he enjoyed retiree events such as horseshoes, woodworking and shuffleboard his heart always remained in Glastonbury. He thrived most of his adult life despite having Multiple Sclerosis, but ultimately lost his courageous battle with cancer. Don is survived by his lifelong, loving wife Louise, their two children Adam and his wife Stephanie and Lisa, his 3 sisters Helen, Yvette and Theresa, and his faithful dog Bailey. He was predeceased by his brother Ray. Friends may call on the family Wednesday, April 22 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave. Glastonbury. Don will be placed to rest next to his mother and father at St Augustine Cemetery in South Glastonbury, Thursday, April 23 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donald’s name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society 659 Tower Ave. Hartford, CT 06112 or the American Cancer Society 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
