The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Irene Cohen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Carolyn Levine
Condolence: Irene was a very unique, loving, full of life "friend". She was always ready for a good time, laugh and party. If given the chance she would have people around her continously. Her joy was in being with family and friends and retelling old stories from "the neighborhood", the girls growing up and where they are now. Janis was her backbone, being there to advocate for her, choose her new residences, take her to appointments and shopping. Until the ravages of Alzheimer's took hold of Irene, she was a delight to be around, but as she lost her word-find she could no longer pretend. Her frustration grew, and of course the one closest took the brunt. I know that Irene was scared as she began to fail, but she always tried to have a smile, a soft touch and an acknowledgement of your presence.Meyer was the love of her life. He spoiled and adored her. After his death, she missed him so. Now they are together again. Irene loved her grandsons and their children. She had a full and good life. Let us all be happpy we knew her, spent time with her and laughed with her. We will miss her, but she is in a better place. With love, "Carol".
