ALLISON, Margaret C. ‘Peggy’ (Connole)
Margaret “Peggy” (Connole) Allison, 89, of Glastonbury, formerly of East Hartford, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Peggy was born and raised in Hartford, daughter of the late Mary (Killeen) and John J. Connole. She grew up in Hartford and graduated from Weaver High School “Class of 1943”, later moving to East Hartford where she raised her family. Peggy worked for many years full time as a Telephone Operator for Southern New England Telephone Company, while working part time at G. Fox and Company as a Switchboard Operator. She was a member of the SNET Pioneers and a Communicant of St. Rose Church in East Harford for many years and then later St. Paul Church in Glastonbury. Peggy loved spending time reading and working in her yard. She was a lover of animals, especially her beloved little dog “Chippy”. Peggy leaves her two daughters; Darlene
M. Allison of West Springfield and Diane M. Allison of New Britain, her three sons, David M. Allison of Tolland, Daniel J. Allison and his wife Janice of East Hartford and Donald Allison and his wife Deborah of Manchester, her grandchildren, Nathan, Zachary and Brittany Allison of Manchester, Joey and Jenna Allison of East Hartford, Bethanie Allison of Tolland and Jennifer (Allison) Necci and her husband Matthew and their children Abigail and Riley all of Glastonbury. She is also survived by her brother John F. Connole of West Hartford, sister-in-law, Theresa Roberts of Ellington and four nephews, Barry and Steven Leahy of Bellevue,WA, Bruce Petrozza of San Diego, CA, and Brian Curry of Wethersfield; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her sister, Stella Leahy. Friends and relatives may call on the family Monday, February 2, 2015 from 5 to 8pm at the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section T) 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Doris Day Animal League, 2100 L Street NW, Washington, DC 20037, www.ddal.org  .
