Obituary for Christopher Carl DiBella

Christopher Carl  DiBella
Christopher Carl DiBella, 77, of Wethersfield, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 with his family by his side. Chris was born, December 25, 1936, and raised in Hartford, the son of Michael and Frances (D’Alessio) DiBella. He attended Hartford schools, graduating from Bulkeley High School. He resided in Wethersfield for over 50 years. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Chris was employed for over 30 years with the United States Postal Service. He was a US Army Reservist, and was a member of the American Legion. Chris will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family; his four children; Michael DiBella and his wife Beverly, of Hawaii, Anthony DiBella of Wethersfield, Donna Dunham of Cromwell, Steven DiBella and his wife Lori, of Wethersfield; his twin brother, Cornelius DiBella and his wife Lucille, of Enfield; two sisters, Theresa May and her husband Nick and, Ann Roark, all of Wethersfield; his nine adored grandchildren, Anthony, Jesse, Melissa, Deiva, Samantha, Alexa, Kahley, Christopher, and Nicholas; as well as several cherished great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Chris was predeceased by four brothers, Andrew, Angelo, Dominic, and Joseph DiBella, along with a son-in-law, Douglas Dunham. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 29th at 10am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will follow the Mass in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mausoleum 2, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. The family wishes to thank Dr. Sporn and all of the staff at St. Francis Cancer Center, especially his nurse Joy; as well as, the staff of Masonicare and Right at Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis Cancer Center, 95 Woodland St, Hartford, CT 06105. Chris’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, CT 06109.
