Obituary for William T. Kilray

William T. Kilray, 77 of Newington, Connecticut died peacefully August 25, 2022. He fought valiantly against leukemia. Bill leaves behind his devoted wife of 48 years Mary (Stepnowski) Kilray. He is survived by his children and their partners Patrick and Melissa LeBlanc of Hubbardston MA, William and Candice Fox of Naugatuck CT, Erin and Jeffery Fuqua of Allen TX. He leaves behind the stars in his eyes his grandchildren Nellie, William and Jude. His heart was also filled by the bonus children added to his family, Amelia and Andrew LeBlanc, Symphony Russell and Caleb Fuqua. Bill is also survived by his brother Joseph Kilray and his wife Naomi of Rocky Hill. His brother and sisters-in-law include Charles and Roseann Stepnowski, Thomas and Martha Stepnowski, Ruth and Charles Freeman and Margaret Kilray. He also has many nieces and nephews. Bill served in the Connecticut Army National Guard, attended Central Connecticut State University and The Hartford Hospital School of Allied Health. He was retired from the Hartford Fire Department and the UCONN Medical Center. Bill was an avid sports fan, being a long-suffering Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan. He also loved the Hartford Whalers and was a proud fan of the Hartford Yard Goats.
Friends may call on Monday August 29, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Bill’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 10:00am in Saint Patrick-Saint Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford. All attendees are requested to go directly to church. Burial will follow in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
