Obituary for Thomas D. "Tommy Mac" McInerney

Thomas D. “Tommy Mac” McInerney, 71, of Hartford, passed away on March 14, 2023. Tom was born on January 3, 1952 in Hartford to the late Thomas J. and Teresa (Martocci) McInerney. Growing up in Hartford, Tom graduated from South Catholic High School in 1970 and went on to Saint Francis College in Biddeford, Maine. After a short tenure with the Orange Volunteer Fire Department, Tommy went on to become a Firefighter for the City of Hartford. He was a member of many organizations within the department such as the Emerald Society, the Saint Florian Society, the Benevolent Society and the Firemen’s Protective Association. Following his retirement from the Hartford Fire Department, Tommy could be found at the Stanley Golf Course, either working or playing. He was a proud member of the Rocky Hill Elks Club and the Moose Lodge in Hartford.

Tommy will be missed by his sisters, Alice Deep and Lynne Goguen. His nieces, Tia Czarnecki and her husband Kevin, Jennifer Ambrose and her partner Eric Lamore, Melissa Goguen and his nephew Roger Goguen. He will also be missed by his many great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Tommy was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Gary Deep and Roger Goguen.

Friends and family may call from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Tom’s life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:00am in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway.
