Theresa McDonagh Conneely, 93 ¾, beloved wife of the late Coley Conneely, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Hartford Hospital, Tuesday (September 27, 2022). Theresa, daughter of the late Mary and John McDonagh, was born November 1, 1928 on Inis Meain, Aran Islands, County Galway, Ireland. She emigrated to Boston in 1949 and got her U.S. Citizenship in 1965 after many attempts at the test and with the aid of notes written on the palm of her hand. She settled in the south end of Hartford where she and Coley raised their family on Montowese Street. Her brother-in-law Eddie Conneely and his wife Cait also settled and raised their family on the same street and they spent many evenings having "lively" discussions together. She was known as "Theresa Mommy" and "Nanny" to family, friends and neighbors. She had a love of life and loved to laugh, and make others laugh as well by doing things such as dressing up as an elf at a family Christmas party or modeling new swimsuits well into her 70's; but was not known for having a good sense of direction or being a good driver – as she once hit someone's porch when learning to drive. She is survived by her children: Patrick and wife, Theresa of Wethersfield, Mary Cutkomp and husband, Bruce, of Wethersfield, Kevin of Hartford, Theresa Conneely and husband, Christopher Slack of Wethersfield; her grandchildren Jennifer, Ryan and wife Jenny, and Matthew Conneely, Vicki Griffin and husband John, Rebecca Ouldunsen and husband Kevin, Alyson Fernandez and husband Dan, Bruce Cutkomp, Michael Villano and fiancee Kristina Sapia, Vanessa and Brendan Slack;, her great-grandchildren, Nolan and Declan Griffin, Collin, Rylin and Caitlin Conneely and Emelia Fernandez; her sister-in-law Nan Conneely of Glencolmcille, Ireland as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends both in the U.S. and Ireland. She was especially close to two of her nieces and their spouses, Peggy Joyce and Paddy and Brid O'Shea and Dave. She was predeceased by her siblings Maura, Patch, Cait, Brid, Colm, Maggie, Mike, John and Tony.
