Obituary for S. Jean Pare (Garber)

S. Jean Pare’, aged 89, passed away on September 19, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born on October 3, 1932 to Benjamin and Margaret (Whitesell) Garber. She was raised in West Hartford, CT and spent most of her career as a Pre-K and Elementary school teacher in West Hartford and Simsbury.

Jean was an avid artist; sharing many of her oil paintings with family and friends. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren who gave her much pleasure. She loved the ocean, finding and collecting beautiful shells, gardening and watching butterflies. Jean was a Jehovah Witness for over 45 years and had many friends in her congregation.

Jean is survived by her children: Lynn Stanard (William) of Monterey, MA, Mark and Mary Pare’ of Deltona, FL, Lauren Rives (Lyndell) of Windsor Locks, CT and Lisa Pare’ of Ocala, FL. She leaves behind 4 grandsons: Roger Pare’, Mark Pare’ Jr, Matthew Pare’ and Jesse Pare’ and 4 great-grandchildren: Sophie, Jameson, Greyson, and Jackson. She also leaves behind a special friend, Matt Kronk, who assisted her for many years when she lived in Glastonbury, CT.

Jean is also survived by her sister, Pamela Engel and brother, Bruce Garber. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Constance Hancock.

A service will be held at the Kingdom Hall in Wethersfield, CT at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
