Obituary for Rosalyn Loiacono (Spiro)

Roz passed peacefully at 82 years of age with her son by her side after a long illness on Tuesday, November 8th. She had a private Jewish burial on a beautiful day on Wednesday, November 9th in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She was born in Fairmont, West Virginia and had spent the last 22 years of her life in Colchester helping raise and shape the lives of her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Blaine, 87, of 53 years, her children, Blaine, Glen, and Barbara, her grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly, Lyn, Maggie, CJ, Erin and Regan and her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Shane, Summer, Taylor and Oscar. She is also survived by her brother, Louis Spiro and sister, Judy Cercena, along with many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Beverly Stemple of Long Island. She was a member of the Democratic Women’s Club and also a member of the DTC in Colchester. She was an avid political advocate and you could see her yearly running the polls with enthusiasm. She had a tremendous love of music, no matter the genre and a passion for Broadway Musicals. She would say….. “Life isn’t worth living if you can’t find humor in things everyday.” She made such an impact on anyone she knew, always there with a smile and a joke. Her laugh was contagious and we will miss her dearly. Please join us in a celebration of her life on Sunday, November 27th from1-3 at Congregation Ahavath Achim, 84 Lebanon Ave in Colchester.
