Robert M. O’Connell, 90, of East Windsor, passed away May 23, 2023 at home. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Frank J. and Ruby (Lassen) O’Connell. Bob was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1950, where he was a champion swimmer. He went on to serve during the Korean Conflict after which he married the love of his life, Anna (Farina) O’Connell, who predeceased him in 2019 after 66 years of marriage. Prior to his retirement, Bob was a Heat and Frost Insulator for Local #33. He was also a past Recording Secretary for the local.
Bob will be greatly missed by his children, Marina J. Gawel and her husband Blake of IN, Robert O’Connell, Jr. and his partner Michael Hendricks of FL, Francis O’Connell and his wife Sharon of TX, Michael O’Connell of East Windsor and David O’Connell of East Windsor, as well as his granddaughters Lauren Cox and her husband Ben of MA and Alyssa O’Connell of NY.
