Obituary for Robert H Meskill

Robert H. Meskill, beloved husband of Patricia (Flaherty) Meskill, passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side. Son of the late Daniel and Mary (Gilmartin) Meskill, he was born in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx on February 17, 1930. He attended Power Memorial Academy in Manhattan and Westchester Community College. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and spent his working years as a sales rep in the food industry. He was a communicant of St. Josephine Bakhita Parish in Rocky Hill.

Bob was an avid tennis player, loved to ski the Bavarian Alps and Rocky Mountains, and hike and ski the Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts. It was there that he met his wife on a hiking weekend. He was proud of his Irish heritage and he and Pat took many trips to Ireland to visit relatives and tour the countryside. Bob loved life and people and was always quick to entertain with a joke, an Irish song, or one of his famous one-liners.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Cromwell, CT, his sister, Joan Curis of West Hartford, CT, his brother, John of Simsbury, CT, and his brother Larry (Vicki) of Tucson, AZ, his sister-in-law, Barbara Meskill of Charlotte, NC, his brothers-in-law, John Flaherty of Cranston, RI, and Robert Mitchell of Darien, CT. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Mitchell, his brothers Daniel, William, and James Meskill. He is also survived and remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Bob's life will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00AM in Saint James Church of Saint Josephine Bahkita Parish, 767 Elm St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
