Robert L. Grider, 73, of Berlin, was gently taken into God’s Kingdom on March 27, 2022. He was the son of the late William Fields and Lillian Geraldine (Pannebacker) Grider. Robert worked for the Hartford Insurance Group for many years in CT. He worked in the Data Center. Before his retirement, he worked for General Equities of Berlin. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating, hiking, camping, horseback riding, doing woodworking projects and art paintings.
Robert will be fondly remembered by the love of his life, his wife Maria (Rafala) Grider, his brother William (Carolyn) Grider of Shreveport, LA, Judy (Sidney) Nickelson of Caledonia, MO, Sharon (Kenneth) Cansler, of Boliver, MO, Cathy (Jerry) Pinson of Irondale, MO. Steven (Lisa) Grider, Bismarck, MO, his grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and God Children. He also leaves and expresses thanks to the Rafala family, associated relatives and many friends. They were all near and dear to him, as well as his own relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Robert’s life will be held on Thursday March 31, 2022 at 11:00am in St. Mary Church of Annunciation Parish, 626 Williard Avenue, Newington. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue Hartford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital of New England, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
