I only recently learned of Bob's passing and apologize for the lateness of this condolence. Over the past many years, my father and I represented many clients and appeared before the CT DPUC and the CT DOT. We often appeared at hearings before Bob as well as consulted with him in his capacity as a representative of the Connecticut Motor Transport Division. Bob was a professional, competent and fair administrator. He understood the importance of a properly regulated transportation policy in Connecticut and applied the laws and regulations in a judicious and appropriate manner. Bob was always easy to talk with and I am sorry to read of his passing. Please accept my condolences to his family and relatives. Attorney Gerald A. Joseloff, 30 Jordan Lane, Wethersfield, CT 06109 (860) 257-1025

I grew up in Oregon and Robert and Kathy came out to my wife's wedding. 1987 was the year. Each year after that we kept in touch talking to each other for hours each holiday that came along, with many birthdays in-between. Bob was the perfect man at everything he did and said. I never heard any troubled words come from Bob. I cried when I heard of his passing. Robert will always be in my fondest memories and I am a much better person having known Bob, and how he treated everyone. His last words to me were: Love from your B-I-L, Bob, Robert Cumpstone. I will miss him dearly.

I grew up in Cheshire, on the same street. He was in a few of my high school classes. We lost touch after high school, but he was always a friendly, intelligent person with a real sense of kindness to all. I am sorry for your loss.

I worked at the State DOT with Bob as my Manager for over 20 years. Bob was the go-to guy in the Regulatory & Compliance Unit and believed in mutual respect amongst his subordinates. A good man who always took the high road. There were many times during Democratic and Republican administrations when politicians would try to persuade Bob into doing things that were unethical, but Bob would always hold his ground and do the right thing. Bob never used the handicap card to get a reward. He was a genuine and honorable person. May he rest in peace.

I met Bob as a member of the Wethersfield Advisory Commission on the Handicapped. He was very intelligent, led the group well and respected everyone. My prayers are with you.
