Raymond A. Lord, 71, husband of Diane (Dustin) Lord, of Glastonbury, passed away September 12, 2022, in Hartford Hospital. He was born in Hartford on January 19, 1951, son of the late Albert J. and Theresa (Bergeron) Lord. Ray worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 35 years, beginning as an Engineering Assistant but transitioning to the Procurement Department as a Project Manager. He was a handyman who loved fixing anything and took projects on with curiosity, which saved his family thousands of dollars. Ray loved learning how things worked. He also coached everything for his sons, Little League baseball, GBA Basketball, midget football, and lacrosse. Ray enjoyed travelling, spending time with family at the beach (body surfing the waves, doing laps and then floating on his back) and made sure his three sons learned how to body surf! His wife resisted those lessons. Later in his life he took up biking, often biking 40 or 50 miles.
Besides his wife, he leaves his sons, Christopher Lord of Rocky Hill, Jonathan Lord of Storrs, and Nicholas Lord and his wife Amanda of St. Petersburg, Fl. Ray will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Skylor Lord, Autumn Lord, Liam Lord, Dominic Lord and Alana Lord, and his sisters, Lorraine Floryan and her husband Richard of VA and Denise Gander and her husband Jim of Rocky Hill. His big heart and huge smile will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones.
