Obituary for Paul Anthony Tine Jr.

Paul Anthony Tine Jr., 75, resident of Rocky Hill since 1972, husband of Gail (Arnold) Tine, peacefully passed away in Hartford Hospital Friday, May 20, 2016 of an aorta dissection. He was born August 28, 1940 and raised in Hartford, son of the Ella (Patzlaff) Tine of Rocky Hill and the late Paul Anthony Tine Sr. and Myalean (Weber) Tine. He attended Hartford Schools, graduating from Bulkeley High School, Class of 1958. He attended the University of Hartford. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, commissioned with the Military Police serving in France, Algeria, San Antonio, and Wyoming. Prior to his retirement, Paul was employed for over 35 years by the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Rocky Hill Senior Center, former treasurer of Stepney Seniors, avid comic book and trading card collector, and a lover of all types of flowers. He was happiest attending Natalie’s softball games serving as her favorite practice catcher for over 13 years. Along with his wife Gail, Paul will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family; his devoted daughter, Natalie Gail Tine of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Nancy Dauphinais and Joanne Romano and her husband Michael “Mike”, all of Rocky Hill; a brother-in-law, Alan Baize of Kissimmee, FL; sister-in-law Jane Smith of Owensboro, KY, sister-in-law Chris Tine of Meriden; aunt Eleanor Bevins and her husband Jim of Florida, aunt and godmother Pat Paul of Wallingford, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend Sal Carminola of Glastonbury, with whom he met weekly for breakfast. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother, Michael J. Tine, father-in-law and mother-in-law, O.V. and Marvie Baize, and his much loved 5 Schnauzers. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Tine family Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 5-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 25th at 10 am, in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford.
