Obituary for Pamela Northrop-Lupo

Pamela Northrop-Lupo, 74, of Hartford died peacefully on November 30, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Robert and Dolores (Gavin) Northrop, Pamela and her family moved to Old Lyme, CT, where she excelled in academics and athletics. Playing collegiate basketball and field hockey, she graduated from SCSU to become a physical education teacher and coach. She retired in 2008 from Sandy Hook Elementary School after a tenure of 20 years.

After retirement, she spent time traveling with her best friend Linda to see the UCONN women’s basketball team win numerous national titles, tended to her garden, took an active role at St. Luke’s Church in Hartford, and spent time as ‘Nana’ to her beloved grandchildren, Luc and Lena.
Pamela’s memories will be cherished by those left behind – her daughter, Jennifer, siblings Patricia, Robert, Earl, Nora, Barbara, Jimmy, Michael, and many close friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday December 4, 2023 from 10:30am to 11:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, and laid to rest at Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery next to her husband, Arthur. In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, please take a moment to pause and recognize all the beauty in the world.
