Obituary for Michael Aux

Michael Aux, husband of his beloved wife of Rocky Hill passed away on February 4, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born on November 23, 1938 in Kal, Hungary to Mihaly & Ilona Aux. Mike was a Freedom Fighter during the Hungarian Revolution and due to being wanted by the authorities, had to say goodbye to his family in Hungary and escape under the cover of darkness at the age of 17. He made his way to the Austrian border where he stayed until he received assistance from the Catholic Charities group, who helped him get to America. Mike proudly became a citizen of the United States in 1968, where he later started his own appliance repair business, which he ran for many years until his retirement. When he retired, his focus was all on his family, and he also loved to play with his granddogs and spoil them with treats. Mike was always athletic and in his younger years he played soccer for many teams including the Italian American Stars, the Polish Falcons and the Hungarian Soccer Club. As he aged, he took up a love for golf, which remained a huge part of his life after retirement. He was always very proud of his 13 Holes-in-one (6 of which were in competition) and even at 82 he had a handicap of 7. Mike could fix anything, unfortunately he could not fix himself after his bought with Covid-19.

Aside from his wife, Mike is survived by his children Karen Bazzano and her husband Sebastian, Michael Aux and his wife Josephine, and Kathy Cabral. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amanda Bazzano, Aiden Cabral, and Brandon & Andrew Aux. Mike also has a wonderful extended family including his sister-in-law Carol Romano as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends including his golfing buddies.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Wethersfield, has been entrusted with the arrangements. To leave condolences, or for further information, please visit farleysullivan.com
