Obituary for Mary Galusha (Heneghan)

Mary (Heneghan) Galusha, 68, wife of Terence Galusha, of Rocky Hill, passed away April 12, 2022 surrounded by her family and loved ones at Saint Francis Hospital after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Degnan) Heneghan. Mary grew up in the Elmwood Section of West Hartford, graduating from Conard High School. Her children were the center of her life, taking them to their various sporting events when they were young and lending a loving listening ear always. She was happiest when she was on the move doing things for her family and was always available with a ready smile. Mary also cherished her friendships. Some of her fondest old memories were spent road tripping in Kathy’s 1965 mustang and girls day shopping trips with Maria. Mary’s personality was a perfect mix of shy and sweet with a little bit of spice. She had a wry sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Besides her loving husband of 45 years, she will be greatly missed by her daughter Mary Kate Galusha and her partner Laura Cowieson of Boston, MA, son Christopher Galusha, grandchildren Colin and Camden Galusha of Rocky Hill who were the light of her life, brother James Heneghan of Woodstock Valley, and many other loved ones, In-Laws, nieces, and nephews. Mary will also be lovingly remembered by her lifelong friends, Kathy Kapuscinski, Maria Matarangas and Sister-In-Law Michile Smart.
Friends may call on Monday April 18, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday April 19, 2022 at 10:00 am in Saint James Church of Saint Josephine Bahkita Parish, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield.
