Obituary for Maria Borges (Nieves)
Maria N. Borges, 90, of Hartford passed away peacefully on August 31, 2020 at St Francis Hospital.
She was born on June 21, 1930 in Iquidos, Peru. Daughter of the late Miguel and Maria Inga Nieves Ricofer. She migrated to the United States in the spring of 1975. She was dedicated to her various jobs she held through her lifetime and happily retired in 1989. She loved animals, especially her puppies and birds, cooking, and listening to music. She was a kind and loving person to anyone she came to know and would always try to help in any way that was needed.
Maria is survived by her son Gary Pinedo of Hartford and his wife Elsa. Three grandchildren, Gary Pinedo of Wethersfield and his wife Ada, Jessica Evans of Manchester and her husband George, Melissa Gonzalez of West Hartford and her husband Ramon, and seven great-grandchildren, Alessandra, Amanda, David, Zoe, George, Mia, and Ramon. She also leaves many friends that are considered family who will also sadly miss her.
Friends and Relatives can call on Wednesday September 2, 2020 at Farley Sullivan Funeral Home located at 34 Beaver Rd Wethersfield, CT 06109 from 4pm-7pm. Please remember to bring a face mask as all social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Interment will be held on Friday September 4, 2020 at Cedar Hill Cemetery located at 453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford, CT 06114 at 1pm. All attendees are asked to go directly to the cemetery’s main gate area.
