She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister in law Elaine Bradley and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Jean, as she was known to her family and friends, grew up and lived in the Hartford area. Before moving to back New Hampshire, she was an active member of Corpus Christi Parish in Wethersfield where she became a Eucharistic Minister. She also created many of the wall hangings that were hung behind the alter. She resided for a number of years in the Claremont, NH area and worked as a CNA doing home care. She then returned to Wethersfield in 2012 to be closer to her family.

Our mother was a beautiful, creative and brave woman. Self taught in the art of sewing and dress making, she was a very talented seamstress and loved designing and making ice skating outfits and wedding dresses. As an avid reader, there was always a shelf of books wherever she was. When living in senior living housing, she created exercise programs and encouraged residents to participate.

In addition to family, she leaves behind her close and long time friend, Maureen Murphy. The two of them traveled locally as well as to Ireland, having lots of fun along the way. She also leaves behind life long friend Nina McKenna.

She leaves us after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, but remained strong throughout her fight. We cannot thank the staff at Newington Rapid Recovery Health Care enough and we appreciate the stories that you shared during her remaining days on earth. The staff treated her with compassion, despite her stubborn demeanor at times. We are truly grateful for all that they have done for our mother.

A private service at the discretion of the family is planned. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Margaret’s name.
