Lucienne (Bordet) Marinelli, 99, wife of the late Frank E. Marinelli, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully at home, with family by her side, on October 15, 2022. She was born on May 3, 1923 in Bourbonne-les-Bains, France to the late Ernest and Marguerite (Bonin) Bordet. Lucienne was training as a nurse at a hospital outside of Paris, during WWII prior to meeting her love, Frank. They married in the Saint Louis Church in Garches, France and came to America in 1946. A woman of deep faith, she was a devout Roman Catholic and spent hours praying daily for friends and family. Lucienne belonged to Saint Paul's Church in Glastonbury for over 65 years. She was a member of the Lady of the Sacred Heart Women's Club, the Legion of Mary, an Auxiliary member of the Knights of Columbus, an auxiliary member of the VFW, the American Legion and worked at Gideon Wells School. She was an independent, strong, and intelligent woman. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Lucienne loved life and spent time reading, doing crossword puzzles, weekly card games with friends, family, and at the community center. She enjoyed watching her beloved Boston Red Sox and was an avid sports fan. She was an excellent cook, baker, enjoyed family dinners, picnics and traveling with Frank and their family. Lucienne will be missed by her six daughters and their spouses: Joseline, (Bill Arzt), Kathleen (Kathy) Morgan, (Jeff), Marilyn Wnuk, (David), Michele Enes, (John), Karen Martin, (Michael), and Carole Michalik, (Peter). Her grandchildren and their spouses, Robert F. McGeary, Steven Croteau, (Krista), Melissa Martin, (Matthew), Jessica Wnuk, Zachary Martin, (Lauren), Noelle, Elijah, Eva, Helena Michalik, Isabel Enes. Her great-granddaughter, Lucienne Mae Martin. Her Grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. Lucienne's sisters, Louisette Augard, Francoise Calvin, Christiane Roth-Gervais. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and extended family in France and the United States. She enjoyed their company and love. She valued the friendship her and Frank had with former Saint Paul Pastor, Father John Gwowdz, who they had fun traveling with. Lucienne is predeceased by her brother, Lucien Bordet and sister, Jacqueline Bongrain, and her son-in-law, Robert N. McGeary. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Lucienne's life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 10:00AM at Saint Paul Church of SS. Isidore and Maria Parish, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury.
