Obituary for Louis J. Garvey

Louis J. Garvey, 95, formerly of Wethersfield and Middletown passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Martin and Katherine Garvey. He graduated from Bulkeley High School. He enlisted in the US Navy and then graduated from Morse Business School. Prior to his retirement he was a salesman with Moore Business Forms. Lou loved the game of golf and continued to play into his nineties. He was a past member of Wethersfield Country Club. Lou loved sports, and he was an avid Red Sox, UConn basketball and Patriots fan! He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, vacationing on Cape Cod and wintering in Florida. He was very social and enjoyed an occasional vodka martini. He was one of the original parishioners at the Church of Incarnation and attended Mass every Sunday. Lou was predeceased by his spouses, Dolores and Antoinette, his beloved daughter Carol, his brother Brandon Garvey, sisters Claire Friedman and Mary Kane. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Debbie Garvey of Middletown, Jeanne Musumeci and her husband Lou of Middletown, his granddaughters Marisa Musumeci and Lindsay DiGioia and her husband Jeremy and two greatgrandchildren, Giordano and Giuliana. Lou also leaves his step daughters, Lisa Kasprysk and her husband John of Berlin, Laurie Branciforte and her husband Michael of Berlin, and Lynne Maston and her husband Steve of Newington. Lou also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am in the Church of the Incarnation of Christ the King Parish, 544 Prospect St. Wethersfield.
