Obituary for Lillian R Jones

Lillian Radcliffe Jones, 97, formerly of Windsor Locks CT passed away
February 13, 2024. She was born in Port Chester, NY on June 18,1926
daughter of the late Lillian (Klein) and Harold F. Radcliffe. She attended
F. E. Bellows High School in Mamaroneck, NY where she met the love of
her life, Elmer. Lillian and Elmer were married for 64 years until his death in
2014. Lillian was also predeceased by three brothers, Harold, John and
George Radcliffe.
Lillian and Elmer raised their three children in Windsor Locks, CT where
they lived for almost 50 years. After raising her children, Lillian went to
work at Combustion Engineering. She loved being with family and friends
traveling on numerous cruise ships in retirement and arranging trips for the
CE Retirees Club. She was a woman of many interests with a thirst for
understanding all that was going on in the world. She enjoyed the theater,
music, dancing, reading, knitting, sewing, bird watching, bowling, and
nurturing her many plants. She was actively involved in all of our lives as
children and adults, often offering advice and sharing newspaper clippings
she thought we should see. She was an avid New York Yankee fan and
devoted follower of the UConn women’s basketball team.
Lillian will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family;
two daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia (Jones) and John Condon of Old
Lyme, Priscilla (Jones) and William Serafin of Calabash, North Carolina
and her son Robert Jones of Windsor Locks. She also leaves two very
special grandchildren, Joseph Serafin and Jessica (Serafin) Grow, her
husband Jared and their two children Emma and Evan Grow of Canton,
Robert’s three sons Brian, Jason and Nicholas Jones and their seven
children.
