Obituary for Kevin James Vigeant

Kevin James Vigeant was the first of three children born to Mary and Armand Vigeant in Warwick, RI, February 19th, 1964. He graduated from Johnston High school in 1982, and Rhode Island College in 1987, a proud member of both schools’ wrestling teams. A larger-than-life personality served Kevin well as he pursued his career in sales, starting as a Sales Representative and rising to Executive Vice President of Sales.
Kevin met Karen during the summer of 1987 in Rhode Island. Their love affair blossomed as they spent time sailing around Newport on Karen’s Dad’s sailboat, and drinking margaritas at Casa Lupita restaurant where they both worked. In 1996, they were married in Newport, RI and moved to Florida to begin their lives. They then relocated to Connecticut in 2001, and settled in Glastonbury to raise their young family.
Our Kevin loved life. Above all else, he loved Karen, Kaitlyn and Kyle, and their dog Callie. He would have done anything in the world for his family. He was so proud of Kaitlyn and Kyle, and the lives they are creating for themselves which are a clear reflection of Kevin’s spirit. Kevin understood how important it is for people to feel loved, and that is reflected by how many people loved him. He was friend to everyone, everywhere.
Kevin loved the Dave Matthews Band and sharing music with his friends. Kevin loved to serve. He served the best Bloody Mary’s, Margaritas, Guinness, and wine, whether you wanted one or not. Kevin’s love language was food, especially his amazing chicken marsala.
He was a leader to many young people in the community through coaching football, wrestling, and baseball. He compassionately served his church and community. Kevin’s happy place was at the beach with his feet in the sand and Kindle in his hand, and of course the big umbrella to protect that fair Irish skin.
Kevin loved traveling with his family which started with a European backpacking adventure with Karen in 1989 and continued with their most recent trips to visit Kyle in AZ at ASU and Kaitlyn in Copenhagen. Kevin’s favorite things were his puppies (especially Dakota), his friends, the Miami Dolphins, Boston Red Sox (he hated the Yankees), biking, spinning, happy hours at Max Fish (really any, and every happy hour), singing out loud at the top of his lungs while mowing the lawn, and the movie JAWS. And he was proud of his Rhode Island roots.
Kevin’s energy was boundless and contagious. He was never without a huge smile on his face and a sparkle in his beautiful, brown eyes. If Kevin was pushing your buttons or giving you a hard time, you knew he loved you.
Kevin would be honored for you to pay it forward. Live in joy, and love as Kevin did in his life.

He is predeceased by his mother, Mary. He is survived by his wife Karen, their children Kaitlyn and Kyle. Father, Armand Vigeant. Siblings and their families: Maureen, Roland, and Nicky Martino; Jim, Denice, Derric, and Jesse Vigeant. Mother in law, Nancy Tauber.
