Obituary for Kenneth P Muscarella
“A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter and the song. The good life I lived when I was strong.”
On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Kenneth Muscarella, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness at Hartford Hospital. Born and raised in New London, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Gross) Muscarella. He was predeceased by his brothers Nick and Charlie. After graduating from New London High School, he began a career in the restaurant industry. In 1980, he opened his own restaurant, Oscar’s Pub & Restaurant in Rocky Hill, CT. He loved to cook for people, both professionally and at home. Ken was the ultimate host and entertainer – the food and drink were plentiful, and the presentation was always perfect.
Ken was much loved by his family, his wife of 49 years, Sharon (Repass) Muscarella, his children and their spouses, Nicholas and Iris Muscarella, and Lauren and Andrew Salak. His 3 grandchildren Nico, Joy and Rosie brought him endless smiles and happiness. Ken is also survived by his best friends; Lou Barbagallo and Subby Puglisi, who he loved like brothers, both of Wethersfield.
Ken will be missed by his in-laws Charlene Muscarella, Gail and Joe Stafford, Kathy and Ken Mckeever, Donna and David Forrest, Jackie Bellows, and Lisa Repass, and all his nieces and nephews. He loved you all!
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10 am at Corpus Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Burial will follow at Rose Hill memorial Park, 280 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. The family has requested everyone go directly to the church. Ken’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, June 30 from 4 to 6 pm at Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road in Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s name to the Wethersfield Food Bank to help those facing food insecurity.
