Obituary for John Thomas Peltier

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our amazing father and husband, John Peltier, 74, of Hartford, CT. John passed away on February 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. John was a graduate of Wethersfield High School and was a computer programmer for Fujitsu until his retirement.

John leaves behind the love of his life of 56 years, Maria Peltier and his children, Mary Brunelle (Raymond) of Cromwell, Sarah Gonzalez (Jason) of Middletown and Sean Peltier (Catherine Vega) of Meriden. John was predeceased by his son; John Peltier Jr. and we find so much solace in knowing they are reunited at last. His greatest treasures, who called him Papa, were his grandchildren David and Raymond Brunelle, Bryce and Blake Gonzalez and his beautiful great granddaughter, Hayden Anne Brunelle.

He is survived by his brother Robert Peltier and wife Joanne of Wethersfield, sister in laws Judi Peltier of RI, Anna Peltier of FL and Isabel (Joseph) Berneski of Rocky Hill. John is also survived by his brother-in-law Joseph (Jane) Dorego of FL, mother-in-law Maria Dorego of Wethersfield and many loving nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents, Nora and Bertram Peltier and brothers Joseph Peltier and Bertram Peltier Jr.

John will be remembered most for his sense of humor, as he was joking and smiling with his family until his very last days. He was happiest when at home on the couch cuddled up with his best friend- his dog Max. John was an avid golfer and loved sports, including Boston Red Sox, Celtics and NY Giants. He took pleasure in reading the paper daily, completing crossword puzzles, watching MSNBC and listening to music including some of his favorites, Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead. “The song is ended but the melody lingers on.”
