Obituary for John "Jack" Doherty

John “Jack” Doherty, 72 of East Hartford, formerly of Hartford and Wethersfield, son of the late John and Madeline (Conroy) Doherty, passed away Monday March 10, 2014. He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School class of ’59 and a veteran of the US Army from 1963-65. Prior to his retirement, Jack was a firefighter for the City of Hartford. He was a member of the Fireman’s Benevolent Society, Firefighter’s Protective Association, the Hartford Patrolman’s and Fireman’s Association, the Firefighter’s Emerald Society, the Firefighter’s Retirees Association and a retired member of the IAFF, Local 760. Jack leaves behind a niece, Stacey Powell of Fl; a great nephew, Dawson Powell and several cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert T. Doherty. The funeral will be held Wednesday March 12, 2014 at 10:30 am from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield, CT. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd.
