Obituary for John Richard Curran

John (“Johnny”) Curran of Manchester passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2021. John was born to the late Richard Curran and Mary (Farrelly) Curran O’Keefe, on May 29, 1961.
He grew up in East Hartford, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy on December 21, 1979. After the Navy, John started his career in telecommunications, where he recently worked with Frontier Communications.
Aside from the pride he took in being veteran of the Navy, John was passionate about many things including, family, the Red Sox, music and being a sponsor of St. Jude. John loved to travel from hiking the Appalachian trail, to traveling abroad, concerts, and then family vacations, with his favorite being Hampton Beach.
John leaves behind his daughter, Ashley and her husband, Jason and their daughter, Milana, his brother, Brian and his wife Carol, his sister Kelly; as well as his nephew, Nicholas and his wife Carolyn, his nieces Jennie (and her son Connor and daughter Veda), Amber, and Lindsey (and her son Kobe). John was also predeceased by his brother Shawn.
Calling hours will be held at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave, Glastonbury on Thursday September 23 2021 from 5-7pm with a graveside service on Friday September 24 starting at 11am at St. Augustine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Foundation.
