Obituary for John Caruso

John Theodore Caruso, 87, of Wethersfield, CT, beloved husband of the late Ann (Mulé) Caruso, of Wethersfield, CT entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 28, 2021. He was born on July 26, 1933 in Hartford, CT, son of the late Pasquale and Mary (Pattitucci) Caruso. John is predeceased by his daughter Patricia Pizzoferrato and leaves four other children, Michele Eleveld and husband Ronald of Windsor, CT, Charlene Caruso of Cromwell, CT, Johnna Cohan and husband Adam of Berlin, CT and Patrick Caruso and wife Patricia of Gilbert, AZ. John also leaves a son-in-law, Emidio Pizzoferrato. He was affectionately referred to as Papa and leaves behind his grandchildren which were his pride and joy: Nicole Pizzoferrato, Michael Pizzoferrato and wife Michelle, Allison Caruso, Analiese Eleveld, Sophia Georgiades and Haley Cohan; and a great grandson, Milo Pizzoferrato. John is predeceased by his grandson, John Georgiades. John will be remembered by his sisters, Anna Cassone and husband Joseph and Corinda Rocco and her late husband Joseph, as well as many nieces and nephews.
John proudly served his country as an Army medic at the time of the Korean Conflict. He was also a very talented musician, leading his own band called the John Caruso Band and owning Caruso’s Music; and was well known in the area as the best jazz accordion player around. He spent many years in retirement traveling the world with his wife and family. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to John and his family on Thursday July 1, 2021 from 5-7 PM at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield with a Mass on Friday July 2, 2021 at 12:00 at Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38105.
