James P. Sullivan, 69, of Wethersfield, passed away May 20, 2023 in Hartford Hospital. He was born in Hartford, son of the late James and Margaret (Johnson) Sullivan, both originally from County Kerry, Ireland. Jim was a graduate of Northwest Catholic High School. He went on to work for the United States Postal Service for over 40 years. Jim was a faithful communicant of Corpus Christi Church, a dedicated letter carrier, and a loyal fan of all New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox. He leaves many cousins, both local and in Ireland, including Dave O’Shea and his wife Brigid of Wethersfield, Ita Fitzgerald Welch of Springfield, MA, Sister Mary Johnson of the Sisters of Notre Dame of Boston, MA, and Margaret Curran and her husband Mike of Shrewsbury, MA. Jim held a special place in the hearts of his family members, co-workers and friends. His quiet presence will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends may call on Saturday June 17, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield.
