James N. “Jimy” Soprano, 41, of East Hartford, beloved husband to Kristen (Zimmerman) Soprano, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2020 in Hartford Hospital with his family by his side. Born on June 8, 1979 to James Soprano and the late Cynthia (Noa) Soprano in New Haven, CT, Jimy went on to live a full and passionate life. He spent the past 8 years as a Human and Technological Services Manager for BNL Industries and had been with the company for 14 years. Jimy loved working for BNL and planned to retire there. He considered everyone he worked with part of his extended family. Aside from his work life, Jimy loved music. Jimy went to the Hart School of Music and studied jazz percussion. After graduation, Jimy fulfilled a life-long dream of traveling the world as a tour manager for his favorite band the Voodoo Glow Skulls. Upon his return to the U.S., Jimy worked for Trod Nossel recording studio and continued to pursue his passion for music. In addition, he was in many bands himself including genres such as ska, punk, metal, country and jazz. Besides playing in bands, Jimy loved photography and taking pictures of local bands playing in venues all around the state.
Besides his wife Kristen, Jimy leaves behind his two sons, Layton and Cooper who were his pride and joy, his sister, Kristine Ricci and her husband Todd, of Hamden, his father and mother-in-law, Karen and Bill Zimmerman of Enfield, his brothers-in-law Eric Zimmerman and his girlfriend Kate and Mike Zimmerman and his wife Liz, his niece and nephews Madison and Maxx Ricci and Calvin Zimmerman, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and devoted friends.
