Gregory Mark Ciccaglione “Chic” husband to Debra (Veilleux) passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the age of 63. Greg was born May 9th of the year 1956 in Hartford, CT. He was the youngest of five. His father George and mother Mary (Cosgrove) raised him along with his brother and three sisters in Hartford. Greg attended South Catholic High School, where he is remembered as a star athlete for both baseball and basketball. Greg was faster than lightening and could absolutely jump out of the gym. He went on to attend Mitchell College where he exceled even further on the basketball court as an electrifying point guard. Greg also played Twilight League Baseball for several years, playing positions such as shortstop, second base, and centerfield. He continued to be involved in sports and coached his kids and their friends throughout their childhoods. All of Greg’s old friends would tell his kids stories of how great of a ball player their dad was, and all the amazing times they had. Greg had an infectious smile that could light up the room and his buddies loved every second of his company. Greg worked in the Scheduling Department at CT Transit for over 35 years and retired in January of 2018. He won first place in many of the company’s 3 on 3 basketball tournaments. Greg was an incredible father and raised two outstanding young men, Jake age 28 and Ben age 23. He was a huge family man and instilled strength, love, compassion, kindness, respect, generosity, and humor in his boys. Greg never stopped talking about his boys and was very proud of the men he and his wife had raised. His sons are also incredibly proud of their father and cherish every moment they shared with him. Greg enjoyed his vegetable garden, his homemade wine, trips to the beach in Old Lyme, morning walks, and reading the Sunday newspaper. He loved watching sports on TV. His favorite teams were the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and his beloved New York Yankees. Greg loved spending time with his family and friends more than anything. He adored his wife Debra and made sure she always knew this. He made her laugh day after day and loved her dearly. Debra loved her husband with all her heart and misses him deeply.
