Obituary for Glennice Stevens

Glennice Stevens, 89, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024. She was born on February 1, 1935, in Hodgdon, Maine, one of the late Henry and Emma (Duff) Higgins’ seven children. She moved with her family to CT and graduated from Rockville High School in 1953. She worked at Shady Glen. She worked for the State of Connecticut until retirement.
Glennice will be remembered as a talented card player and golfer, but most especially for her outgoing personality and musical talents. She was always the center of attention when dancing, singing country music, or playing the piano, guitar, or keyboard in bands. She was an established entertainer and recording artist, producing many CDs. She was also known for her love of Kahlua Sombreros. But what she loved most was spending time with her family whom she adored. Glennice was an outgoing, people-person and her passing is the end of an era.
Glennice leaves behind her children, Richard Stevens of Northfield, Douglas Stevens and his wife FuDan of Torrington, Jeanette Stevens and her husband, Russ Atkinson of Vernon, David Stevens and his wife, Jill of Glastonbury, and Christine Stevens of East Hartford, as well as her sister, Ardis Records, and brother-in law David. Glennice also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Lisa, Sarah, Jeff, Carlton, Michael, Dylan, Jonathan, and Logan and seven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Glennice was predeceased by her grandsons, Timothy and Bradley Stevens.
