Obituary for Gertrude Banks
Gertrude “Ginny” Banks, wife of the late Nelson Banks passed away peacefully Thursday April 20, 2023. Ginny was born in Hartford, Ct. on August 2, 1942 to the late John F. and Gertrude (Thrall) Guinan.
Ginny attended Our Lady of Sorrow Grammar School and Hartford Public High School. She enjoyed working several years at the Aetna, where she met many lifelong friends. Ginny or “Gigi” as she was called by her nieces and nephews always added fun to conversations. She was a witty and sassy lady.
Ginny leaves behind her sisters Joan G. Wright (David-deceased) of Newington, and Mary G. Murphy (William-deceased) of Wethersfield, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ginny’s family would like to especially thank the Elvas family for always being there for her.
Services for Ginny are private and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
