Esperanca Jose, 94, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife to the late Antonio Jose, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Jose Reis and Aurizia Fernandes in Porto, Portugal on October 2, 1926. Esperanca was known for being a loving, caring, affectionate and benevolent person. An incredibly selfless person, she got her own happiness from seeing the joy in other people. After losing her mother at a young age, Esperanca had a maternal instinct and helped raise her family, which she continued those instincts until the day she died. Aside from her love for her family, she had a passion for music and dance. Esperanca was a devout Catholic, she prayed the Rosary every day and had a vast love for God.
Esperanca is survived by her children, Justino “Tino” Sampaio and his wife Manda, Camilo Jose and his wife Lucielle, Antonio Jose, and Maria Lameirao and her husband Roger. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Brandon, Harmony, Christina, Roger Jr., Antonio, Gabriella, Stephanie, Jacob and Justino.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 10:30AM in Center Cemetery, 2520 Main Street, Rocky Hill.
