Obituary for Ellen M. Salmon (Nolan)
Ellen M. (Nolan) Salmon, 83, wife of the late Brean F. Salmon, passed away May 30, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Lester and Mary (Conroy) Nolan on August 4, 1937. Ellen worked at G. Fox & Co. and The Hartford Electric Light Company in her younger years before staying at home to raise her two daughters. She was a devout communicant at Corpus Christi Church; she loved Broadway musicals, and visiting libraries and bookstores. Ellen admired John F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family. She also enjoyed her trips to the casino. Ellen was a very funny person and will be greatly missed.
She leaves two daughters, Mary Salmon and Jeffrey Raper of Dover, NH and Kassie Salmon and Graham Mariano of Wethersfield. Ellen is also survived by her brother Terrance Nolan of Wethersfield; Diane Nolan of Middletown, wife of Ellen's late brother William Nolan; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry Salmon and Martha Mulready-Salmon of Meriden; as well as her caretaker Sara Shreder and many lifelong friends.
Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 am on Monday June 7, 2021 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
