Elizabeth “Betty” (Dicso) Sefcik, of Wethersfield, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at age 86. Betty was born in Fairfield on September 19, 1926, daughter of the late Gustave and Pearl (Levay) Dicso and lived in the Trumbull and Fairfield area most of her life before moving to Wethersfield 16 years ago. She was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and prior to her retirement was employed by Connecticut National Bank. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, doing crossword puzzles, and playing card games with her friends. She was very proud of her Hungarian heritage. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Yolanda (Sefcik) Preysner and her husband John of Wethersfield and her son Brigadier General Peter Sefcik, Jr., USAF and his wife Stephanie of Vienna, Virginia. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catherine and John Preysner, all of Wethersfield and Anna Sefcik of Vienna. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she was their faithful and enthusiastic supporter, thoroughly enjoying all their musical and athletic activities. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Margaret Kaminski and Irene Kozlowski, her brothers-in-law Daniel Kozlowski, John Sefcik and William Maraczi, her sister-in-law Alicia Sefcik and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Sefcik, her sister Pearl Kish, brothers-in-law Paul Kish, Raymond Kaminski and Andrew Lipko and sisters-in-law Anna Sefcik and Helen Lipko. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 1, 2013 at the First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield. Burial in Hazelton, Pennsylvania will be private. Family and friends are invited to call at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Monday, July 1.
