Obituary for Edward J. Clarke
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Edward J. Clarke born in Hartford on May 10, 1946 and passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on December 21, 2020. Edward was the son of
Gregory and Emily Clarke of Rocky Hill. Ed worked at Hartford Public High School as an English teacher for 40 years. He also volunteered at the Upperboard Program at Trinity College in the summer to help
students get into college, and also worked in the Higher Horizon's program at Hartford Public High School. Ed was very fond of all his students and even when they all went on to bigger and better
things, they all still kept in touch with him. He loved the Opera and the Arts and could strike up a conversation with anyone and talk for hours. Ed leaves his good friends and neighbors Theresa Horan,
Luis and Maritza Cortes and Hyacinth Yennie. He also leaves his best friend Reba to the care of John at Hartford Veterinarian Clinic. Ed was predeceased by his dogs Aladdin, Zeus, Emma and Brady.
Due to Covid, a graveside service will be held Tuesday January 5, 2021 at 10:00 am in Rose Hill Memorial Park, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill, section 32. Attendees are requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
