Obituary for Doreen Barry (Cullina)

Doreen (Cullina) Barry, 92, wife of the late Thomas A. Barry, of Farmington, passed away November 17, 2022 peacefully at home, with her family at her side. Doreen was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Patrick J. and Helen (Kelly) Cullina and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy. Prior to her retirement, she was a secretary at Trinity College. Doreen loved music, dancing, and had a tremendous sense of humor with an infectious laugh. She made everyone she came in contact with feel special and valued and showed an interest in everything they did. Doreen was a true “Neighborhood Mom” who cared for and opened her door to anyone who needed it, even taking in people with nowhere else to turn. She was loving mother, grandmother, and wife, with a tremendous love for Tom.
The Barry family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Middlewoods of Farmington and also Elzbieta Jones who cared for her in her later days.
Doreen will be greatly missed by her children, Eileen Katz and her husband Jim, of Middletown, Tim Barry and his wife Kathy of Wyoming, John Barry and his wife Alison of California, Kevin Barry and his wife Patti-Ann of Rocky Hill, her grandchildren, Danny, Chris, Meg Barry, Kiva Barry, Jenna Stebbins and her husband Bill, Jillian Barry and Matthew Hock, her great-grandchildren, Owen and Lily and her sister, Sr. Marilyn Cullina, Congregation of Notre Dame. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Ian Barry.
