One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to get to visit my Nana’s house On 58 Newburyport St. in Hartford on a Sunday afternoon.
At 58 Newbury St. you could get to see any variation of cousins, aunts, or uncles on any given Sunday. I always felt lucky if 2 Individuals were there when we arrived -my Uncle David and Jughead the dog. I can still see Uncle David standing on the porch with a hand on his hip and a happy yellow dog by his side saying “Oh the Twins are here so let’s get this party started!” That always made me smile because he made us feel special. I decided at an early age the He was one of my all time favorite Uncles. He was kind to us, and that stuck with me all my life.
In later years we somehow stayed in touch. I made sure I called him every so often to see how he was and I know he appreciated that. Yet I always felt after our conversations were over, I gained more in love than he did from me. Going to miss that man.... but I’m am so blessed we had each other’s, love and caring all these years. I hope he knew how much us “Hogan kids” loved and respected him. He was a smart savy guy so I’m confident in the end he did know the love we had for him.
Rest In Peace Uncle David and Pray for us.
Love always,
Sincerely, “ Little Ei”
In later years I always made an effort to call him
