Obituary for Concettina Manciagli (LaPira)

Concettina "Tina" (LaPira) Manciagli, of Hartford, went to the arms of her loving Lord, August 7, 2021. Tina was born in Sicily, November 1, 1923. She moved to America in 1953. Here she met her husband of 59 years, Paul. Tina became an American citizen and had a long career with Heublein, Inc. Even though she did not have the opportunity for very much formal schooling, we were all very proud that she learned to speak and write English very well. Getting a driver's license was also a great achievement that allowed her to drive herself to work and to take her friend and sister-in-law Connie shopping. When they retired, Paul and Tina enjoyed travelling and snow birding to Florida. Tina will always be remembered for her warm hospitality and excellent cooking. She was the kind, caring, and beloved mother to Rose Bairos and Steven Manciagli. Tina is survived by her two children, her four grandchildren John, Jim, Christina, and David, and her five great grandchildren Lauren, Alec, Joe, Joshua, and Vivienne. Tina was preceded in passing away by her husband Paul, her two siblings Salvatore and Giuseppa, and her beloved son-in-law Joe. She will be missed by all that knew her but she will always be in our hearts. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Manciagli Family on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 8:30a.m. to 9:30a.m. at the Farley - Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Tina's life will be held in Saint James Church of Saint Josephine Bahkita Parish, 767 Elm Street Rocky Hill, on Friday, August 20, 2020 at 10a.m. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT.
