Obituary for Christopher J. Capsolas Jr.

Christopher Joseph Capsolas, 74 of Newington, CT passed away on Friday November 27, 2020, surrounded by his family, after a long, heartbreaking battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born May 17, 1946 to Christopher Nicholas and Yolanda Zita Capsolas, and grew up in West Hartford. A 1964 graduate of Hall High School, he was drafted into the army in 1965 and served his country in Vietnam as a member of the 196th Light Infantry Brigade. Upon his return home he married his high school sweetheart Kathleen Damiata and they had three children Jamie, Kelley and Stephanie.
An avid golfer and former member of the Board of Directors at Indian Hills Country Club, Chris felt right at home on the course. He was a talented carpenter, successful salesman and entrepreneur. He truly lived life to its fullest through the simple pleasures of spending time with friends and family. Always with a smile, Chris had a huge heart and an even bigger laugh. He had an innate way of making everyone feel comfortable, everyone loved him.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his three children, three grandchildren Madalynne, Zoe and Maximo, his two sisters Yolanda Marino and Joanne O’dell and Kathy Kurland.
A very special thank you to Wilma Lopez, who gave Chris amazing care during the final years of his life. She and her family were a true gift to our family. Their unconditional love and commitment to him could never be replaced.
