Obituary for Charles Blazawski

Charles Blazawski, 89, of Glastonbury, entered eternal peace on January 27, 2023 at Civita Care Center in Newington, CT. He was born in Glastonbury on November 22, 1933, son of the late Charles and Mary (Kunikewich) Blazawski. Charles resided in Glastonbury all his life. Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was a police officer for the Hartford Police Department for 24 years. Charles served in the Patrol Division where he was designated a Field Training Officer, the Investigative Services Bureau as a Warrant Control Officer, the General Investigations Division and Traffic Division as a traffic analyst, a member of the Accident Review Board and the Police Department’s Fleet Manager. He was awarded the Hartford Police Department’s Merit Award for Valor in 1975. Charles was also the President of the Police and Fire Organization from 1986 until 1988 and served on the executive board until his retirement. Charles leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Samuel Blazawski and Raymond Blazawski; and his sisters Lena Zovadjancik, Stephanie Demers, Helen Martocchia and Nina Catana.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family on Thursday February 2, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 26 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury. Interment will follow in Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, 1458 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury.
