Barbara (Deane) Wentworth departed this life with the same quiet dignity she lived it. Daughter of Walter and Marjorie Deane, she was born on January 19, 1929 in Dover, New Hampshire to a family with two brothers and three sisters. She attended Dover High school where she was an outstanding athlete. She later took up tennis and bowling while she was busy caring for her young family in East Hartford. When her childrearing was done, she was employed at a variety of jobs including Brady, Willard & Alexander Law Firm; Manchester Community College and Adco Manufacturing. Besides being beautiful and always well-dressed, Barbara loved to read, followed current events and was always open to discussion of the world we live in.
She is survived by her loving children, Karen Wentworth (companion Charlie Thieme) of South Portland, Maine; Donna Wentworth (husband Kevin McDermott) of Glastonbury and Bruce Wentworth (wife Pam) of South Windsor. Also her granddaughters Alison Batignani (husband Sonny Howell) of Atlanta, Georgia and Sarah McDermott (husband Justin) of Pomfret. She also leaves her sisters Carole Mayer of Manchester, Nancy Temple (husband Tony) of South Windsor, Priscilla Bickford of Torrington and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Robert and Lloyd Deane, longtime companion Rocco Alexander and the father of her children Frank Wentworth.
Finally, she wanted to thank all those people who brought happiness into her life.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 12:30 to 1:30PM followed by a celebration of Barbara's life starting at 1:30PM.
