Anna D. (DeSanto) Johnston, 92, of Rocky Hill, loving wife of the late Thurber R. Johnston, peacefully passed away, Friday, November 1, 2019 at Hartford Hospital. She was born June 8, 1927 and raised in Hartford, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Carmella (Regina) DeSanto. Prior to her retirement, Anna was employed for many years at the Veterans Hospital, Newington assisting Veterans in need. She is survived by her loving and caring daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Richard DiMauro of Rocky Hill; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Anna was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony, Frank and Dominic DeSanto, and her sister Nancy Hebler.
Friends and relatives many pay their respects to the family, Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 4-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Anna’s life will be Thursday, November 7th at 10am in St. Elizabeth Seton Church of St. Josephine Bakita Parish, 280 Brook St., Rocky Hill (Attendees are asked to go directly to the church). Interment will follow the Mass in Rose Hill Memorial Park (Section 24), 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill.
