Aniela (Woznica) Dzialo, of East Hartford, wife of the late Eugeniusz “Gienek” Dzialo, passed away September 4, 2022 at the age of 85. After enduring many years of illness and pain, Aniela is no longer suffering. Aniela was born June 13, 1937 to the late Walenty and Katarzyna (Bazan) Woznica, in Brzyska Wola, Poland. Aniela immigrated to the US in 1965, and stayed with her aunt Jadwiga (Bazan) Kostek, in her farmhouse in Hadley, Mass. After a short stay in rural Hadley, Aniela decided farm life was not for her anymore. So she moved to the “big city” of Hartford and settled among other recent immigrants whom she had known in Brzyska Wola. Like many Poles in the area, she became a longtime parishioner of SS Cyril & Methodius Church. In later years, she became a member of the Church’s Rosary Society.
A few years after her arrival in the US, Aniela took a trip back to Brzyska Wola, where she married Gienek Dzialo, whom she had known all her life. Newly married, Aniela returned to Hartford with her husband. Life was difficult at times for Aniela and her husband. With her steadfast faith in God, fierce determination, and some help from friends and relatives, Aniela was able to overcome obstacles and successfully raise her daughter and two sons, giving them a better life than she had. Later on Aniela welcomed a daughter-in-law and granddaughter into her life.
Aniela is survived by her daughter Katarzyna “Kathy”; her son John, his wife Michelle (Guillette), their daughter Caitlyn; and her son Krzysztof. In addition to her parents and husband, Aniela was predeceased by her three sisters: Maria Leniart, Rozalia Skwara, and baby Anna Woznica.
